Court will on February 14 pass sentence on Hushpuppi

Court will on February 14 pass sentence on Hushpuppi, says the U.S. Department of Justice.

Thom Mrozek, the spokesman for the U. S Attorney Office for the Central District of California says social media celebrity Ramon Abass popularly known as Hushpuppi’s trial is coming to an end.

“The court has schedule Mr Abass sentencing for February 14”, Mrozek said. Though he didn’t give details of how Hushpuppi trial went in the court.

The spokesman for the U. S Attorney Office for the Central District of California, Mrozek has not given information on how long the sentence may but he hinted that Hushpuppi will serve jail sentence in American prison.

He however said that Huspuppi will be remove from America after he had served his sentence, “He could be subject to removal from the United States once he completes his prison sentence,” -Mrozek.

 

United Arab Emirates security agencies had arrested Hushpuppi who lives in Dubai in June 2020 over accuse of attempt of stealing multi millions dollars through business email compromise (BEC), internet fraud and other related internet crimes. The U.S. law firm, one foreign bank and one English Premier League club were his target.

In July 2020, the UAE later extradite Hushpuppi to Chicago in America under FBI special agents custody where he was first tried.

During the detention hearing, court for di Northern District of Illinois, USA rule says the U.S. Marshals Service should transport Hushpuppi to Los Angeles where his trial will commence.

During pretrial, Ramon Abass had pleaded not guilty to the four counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering conspiracies, international money laundering and other related crimes.

Experts says that if the court finds Hushpuppi guilty of all the crimes, he may face maximum prison terms of nothing less than 20 years in the federal prison.
