Record-smashing Hilda Baci, has completed her marathon cooking at 100 hours, setting a new Guinness World Record for the ‘longest cooking period’ by an individual.
Recall Hilda had equaled and surpassed Indian chef Lata Tandon’s record for the longest cooking time on Monday morning who cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds to break the previous title.
The Akwa-Ibom-born chef went on to hit her initial 96-hour target only for her to go extra four hours, peaking at a new world record of 100 hours.
Hilda started cooking on Thursday at 4 pm Nigerian time when she turned on her cooker for the cook-a-thon.
President Muhammadu Buhari, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, and Senate President-elect Godswill Akpabio are among the luminaries who have thrown their support behind her.
Celebrities, clerics and other well-meaning Nigerians also came out to support the celebrity chef, both on social media and in person.
The chef’s exceptional feat will be reviewed by Guinness World Records management before her name is formally put into the famed book, which includes a slew of Nigerians with impressive exploits.
