Luther: The Fallen Sun is an upcoming crime thriller film directed by Jamie Payne and written by Neil Cross. It serves as a film continuation of the 2010–19 British television series of the same name. The film stars Idris Elba (who also serves as a producer on the film), reprising his role as John Luther, with Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis.
Luther: The Fallen Sun is scheduled to be released in select cinemas on 24 February 2023, before its streaming release on 10 March 2023, by Netflix.
A serial killer terrorizes London while disgraced detective John Luther sits behind bars. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary.
