Nedu throws shade at self acclaimed independent women
Nedu, a well-known Nollywood actor and media personality known as Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, has harshly criticized women who call themselves “independent” but depend on males to pay their bills.
He said that many of these so-called “independent ladies” are actually mistresses of rich men who provided the money for their luxurious lifestyles.
Nedu shared his opinions on the subject in the most recent edition of the audiovisual podcast he co-hosts, The Honest Bunch.
Nedu‘s podcast has frequently made women the focus of its conversations. He and the program have received harsh criticism for this. Nevertheless, despite the controversy that surrounds him, Nedu continues to have a sizable fan base and is still one of Nigeria’s most well-liked comedians and media figures.
He said: , “Forget all this one that ladies are saying, ‘I’m independent’. My aunty, for you to open that shop, you collected money from five different men. And you are calling yourself independent. You are not.”You should not be in that category. There are hard working ladies who toil and hustle for contracts. And when people want to disturb them, ‘You’ll have to sleep with me.’ They walk out of the office.”
