Tottenham 2-2 Man Utd: Kudos to Heung-Min Son’s late goal

Tottenham fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Manchester United thanks to Heung-Min Son’s late leveller in a pulsating game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham’s fightback against Manchester United was driven by “anger” after last weekend’s “unacceptable” defeat, says forward Son Heung-min.

The previous time Tottenham played Newcastle, they lost 6-1. On Thursday, they trailed 2-0 before beating United back.

Prior to Son’s equalizer in the 79th minute, Pedro Porro’s goal gave Spurs hope.

Son stated, “That was the dressing room speech, and we wanted to give everything.”

“We couldn’t let the game go. We were really angry about it, we didn’t deserve to be 2-0 down at half-time.” Son added.

“The last week was unacceptable and we didn’t want to repeat that. We feel really, really sorry for the performance and result and today we wanted to bring a good energy.

“We really appreciated [the fans’] support and they were fighting with us.”

Erik ten Witch’s side showed up on course to lay out an eight-point pad in fourth spot as clinically-taken first-half objectives from Jadon Sancho (7) and Marcus Rashford (44) put them in charge.

Be that as it may, Prods, injured from their 6-1 whipping by Newcastle, after which Cristian Stellini was sacked as break chief and supplanted by Ryan Bricklayer, got one back through Pedro Porro (56) then constrained a merited balancer when Child changed over Harry Kane’s low cross (79).

In the second half, the hosts had a lot of chances to win all three points, but Manchester United will be disappointed that they didn’t take advantage of their earlier chances. Bruno Fernandes shot off the bar when it looked like it would be easier to score.

Despite having played two more games, the draw moves Spurs up to fifth, six points behind Manchester United, ensuring that United still has work to do to guarantee qualification for the Champions League.
